Day of the (Sweet) Dead

Day of the Dead, or Dia de Muertos in Spanish, is a Mexican holiday celebrated throughout Mexico and around the world in other cultures.

The holiday focuses on gatherings of family and friends to pray for and remember friends/family who have died.

In Mexico, it’s a national holiday, celebrated on November 1&2, in connection with  Catholic holidays of All Saint’s Day. Everything closes on that day.

It’s in the tradition to honor the deceased with sugar skulls, marigolds and their favorite food and beverages.

So enjoy these beautiful looking skull candies.
