The O.C? Does it ring a bell? If you are in early twenties today, than you probably watched that show a couple of years ago when it was still on the air. Basically, it was a bunch of teenagers who went to high-school (most of the time) and got hammered. But I am sure, that most of you watched it because Mischa Barton was beautiful. I watched the first few seasons, then it got really bad and I stopped (my sister watched it till the very end).
But after she got killed off the show, her life really went downhill. Drugs, rehab, anorexia… You name it. But like most of the celebrities in Hollywood, she claimed that she ate normally and was naturally skinny.
But, um, have you seen her lately? HAVE YOU?
Don’t get me wrong, I am glad she’s eating and she’s gained weight (maybe a little too much though). But what people (especially young and easily influenced girls) need to take from this story is that Hollywood really fucks with celebrities’ minds: most of these actresses and singers and pressured by the business to stay skinny, since you know, the camera adds 10 pounds. But most of them have a normal metabolism: they can’t eat almost anything and just stay skinny.
So please, don’t fall for that image that Hollywood sells: skinny ass bitches happily walking around with their frozen coffee from Starbucks with their iphone 200 in their hand.
